The doctor referred me to a ENT, and eventually I had my tonsils removed. As years went on, I was coughing out bigger and bigger tonsil stones, prying them out with bobby pins (they make for a good hook, even though it probably isn't a good idea) and pushing them out with my fingers. I told him to give me a sample tube, I'd cough one out and give it to him. The first time I went back to my doctor, he told me to go home, he didn't believe me (unbelievably shit doctor). I remember dabbing the area of my tonsils with a cotton bod, having a sniff - and the same smell of the decaying food between my braces coming back to me. Shining a torch down my mouth, I could see that I had two large pockets in the back of my throat. I discovered through googling, that I had tonsils tones - food could get lodged inside your tonsils and stay there - small balls of decaying food, sitting in pockets at the backs of your throat. As soon as it came out, I could smell that same decaying food smell I had with my braces. It had felt like something had been stuck in my throat for a long time. I coughed into my hands one day, and a large white smelly ball came out of my mouth. I wasn't imagining it, but nobody wanted to believe me or tell me the truth? The dentists I saw said my teeth were fine. I licked the back of my mind, had a sniff - it smelt like balls. I licked the back of the spoon, had a sniff - it smelt like balls. My mum, trying to be a "good" mum, lied to me and said that my breath didn't smell.

I saw doctors, they told me to go home - they said I was imagining it. I was wrong, my bad breath continued after my braces were removed. I thought that I'd have to live with it for a while, cleaning my braces as best as I could with my toothbrush - once my braces were out, my breath would be back to normal again. When food rots in your mouth, it smells like faeces, no joke. This is type of bad breath that smells like actual shit. At that time, my breath was stinking because food was getting stuck in my metal braces, particularly towards the back of my mouth where it was harder to clean. I've had bad breath since I was about 15, when I had braces for my teeth. If you have "some-what-smelly-because-you-ate-some-fish" bad breath, then you probably won't understand. If you have real, chronic bad breath - then you'll understand what I'm saying. I'm writing this with the hopes to help somebody else who may be going through what I've been through. I mean you blast your mouth with toothpaste and the strongest mouthwash money can buy, and your breath smells like shit 30 minutes later. When I say bad breath, I mean seriously bad breath. I've had chronic, shit smelling bad breath for the last 13 years and I've cured it in the last 2 days.
